Hillary’s Bio

I joined the K Library staff in 2017, after spending eleven years working in public libraries. I have an MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Public History from Western Michigan University. At the circulation desk, I can help you locate items in the library, request items through MeLCat, and set up your course reserves. The best part of my job is working with student employees and seeing them grow into leaders. When I’m not in the library, I’m usually trying to lift heavy things in the gym, improvising new recipes in the kitchen with my partner, or walking around outside listening to podcasts.

I’m more than happy to help with any of your research quandaries, but if you’re in particular need of citation assistance, I’ve got your back. Outside of the library my interests include: walking, animal welfare, genealogy, Roman history, and comedy specials.

Leslie’s Bio

I joined K’s library in January 2012, after a stint working for EBSCO, and an ecumenical trek through various libraries in Grand Rapids. I started my Master’s in Library Science at WMU, but when they dropped their program, I finished my degree at University of Michigan. Since I love variety, being Collection Services Librarian allows me to wear many different hats serving the K community. My job is to ensure that K has the best collection we can afford and to make it all as findable as possible. In my free time, I love doing genealogy, reading, and traveling. Unlike many librarians, I am dog lover, especially bigger dogs, although I am currently dog-less.

I joined the Library staff as the Document Delivery Specialist in 2021 and am happy to assist with all of your Interlibrary Loan needs. I hold a BA in Holocaust Studies and Religious Studies from Albion College and have spent my prior professional years working at the Kalamazoo Public Library, here at K in the Office of Alumni Engagement, and at Facing History and Ourselves, a social justice non-profit in Chicago. I love K and am thrilled to be back on campus to help students, faculty, and staff access all of the amazing resources available to them through the Library. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, camping, doing outdoorsy stuff, reading, baking, and having everyday adventures with my husband and three awesome daughters.

Kelly’s Bio

I joined Robin as Reference and Instruction Librarian at K in 2018. I’m originally from a small town in Indiana and have lived all over (Tokyo, NYC, Cincinnati!) before finally finding my forever home in Kalamazoo. My Master’s in Library Science comes from Queens College. I love working with students at all stages of the research process—even citation! When not at work I can usually be found at my boys sporting/musical/theatrical events or on my couch with a cup of tea and my ancient kitty curled on my lap.
